A silly little game about a time-warping bird wizard for the MashUp Game Jam 2!

Controls are simple: ARROW KEYS or WASD to move the character, [SPACE] to go through the dialogue and to use the little time-slowing trick, LEFT-CLICK on the bullets to defend against them and DOWN KEY on the boxes to collect them!

I really wish I  could've made some music for the game, but I didn't have time, so it's kind of silent. I'm sorry about that!

Description & Thoughts

I've been wanting to make something for the MashUp Game Jam for a while, but I've had no energy whatsoever this week and I was gonna just not make anything until I got a surge of inspiration and made this last-minute entry in 24 hours.  It was a bit of a headache but really fun, and it was nice to just make something!

I'm really sorry if this is very buggy, this is the second game jam I've ever joined and I'm still very new to this whole thing! I tried my best, though!

This was still really fun, though!! I've been ill and it was a nice distraction! I did stress a bit too much on the level design because I had so many ideas and so little time, but I'm still happy I managed to finish anything at all!

All the sprites (or, well, most of them) fit in a 32x32 grid, and both the talk sprites and the overworld sprites for Cuckoo are 32x32! And making them was really fun!! Pixel art is fun and I have to do it more often! Also, I had something in mind for the black & white color palette, but I changed my mind halfway, though I still kept the palette!

I'm still bummed out I couldn't make music in time, though. Aw man.

All art and sounds made by me!

Font used in the game is Press Start 2P!

Hey, nice job. Couple of gripes though.

1: I had no clue what to do with the Time Slow mechanic since I couldn't move during it.

2: I think implementing a lower ground level  and higher jump could have helped with the movement. Here's a video on that topic:

3: Music of course. It's integral to the feel and enjoyment of a jam, especially a short one.

For a 24 hour game, I think you did a decent job

Thank you! I'm glad you like it! :D

1. You're supposed to click on the bullets to 'pop' them before they hit you! I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear enough in the instructions!

2. Thanks a lot!! :D I'm def gonna try to improve on that, thank you!!

3. You're right! I was gonna add music but I didn't have enough time at all (as I say in the desc). I'm definitely gonna add some in the next update though! (Probably after the jam)

Thanks you, I appreciate the feedback a lot!
